Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of League Race Director (“LRD”, “the Software”), a Windows desktop application published by Coy Media (“we”, “us”, “our”), together with the LRD website at lrd.coymedia.us.

By installing, launching, or using LRD, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

1. What LRD is

LRD is a race-direction and broadcast tool for league racing on the iRacing simulation platform. It runs entirely on your own Windows PC. It reads live session data from iRacing, helps you manage race control (flags, stages, penalties, pit decisions), keeps a local race notebook, and renders overlay graphics for streaming software such as OBS.

LRD is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by iRacing.com Motorsport Simulations, LLC. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

2. Beta software

LRD is currently distributed as beta software. It may contain defects, may change significantly between releases, and may lose or corrupt data. Features may be added, altered, or removed without notice. Do not rely on LRD as the sole record of anything you cannot afford to lose. Back up your race notebook and profiles.

3. Licence to use the Software

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use LRD on computers you own or control, for your own league racing, broadcasting, and race-direction purposes.

You may not:

• sell, rent, sublicense, or redistribute the Software or any licence key;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software, except where that restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
• circumvent, disable, or tamper with the licence verification or tier gating;
• remove or obscure any copyright, trademark, or attribution notices;
• use the Software to break the rules, terms, or acceptable use policies of iRacing, Discord, or any other third-party service.

We retain all right, title, and interest in the Software. These Terms grant you a licence, not a sale.

4. Licence keys and paid tiers

Some LRD features are unlocked by a signed licence token. Licence tokens are verified offline on your machine and are tied to the person or organisation they were issued to.

• Licence tokens are for your use only. Sharing or publishing a token may result in revocation without refund.
• Licence tokens may carry an expiry date. Expired tokens stop unlocking gated features.
• Where a licence is purchased, refund terms are those stated at the point of purchase. During the beta period, licences may be issued free of charge and may be revoked or reissued at our discretion.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• your own iRacing account, credentials, and compliance with iRacing’s terms;
• any web address you load in a URL overlay, and your compliance with that site’s own terms. LRD renders the page you choose; what you point it at, and whether you are entitled to display it, is your call;
• the content you broadcast, including any names, logos, sponsor artwork, or third-party material you load into LRD’s overlays — you must have the right to use it;
• the decisions you make as a race director. LRD surfaces information and automates bookkeeping; the calls are yours.

If you run LRD’s broadcast server, you are responsible for who can reach it on your network. See the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Third-party services

LRD can connect, at your instruction, to:

• iRacing — via iRacing’s official OAuth2 sign-in and Data API, and via the local iRacing simulator’s shared-memory telemetry interface.
• Any website you choose, through a URL overlay. LRD loads the address you supply and renders it; it neither endorses nor vets those sites, and it sends them nothing about you.

These services are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them, are not responsible for them, and cannot guarantee their availability. If a third-party API or page changes or is withdrawn, the LRD features that depend on it may stop working.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use LRD to harass, defame, impersonate, or endanger anyone; to collect or display information about people who have not consented to being part of your broadcast; or to violate any applicable law. Do not use LRD to gain an unfair competitive advantage in any sanctioned event whose rules prohibit external tooling — check your series rules.

8. Support and community

Support is offered on a best-effort basis through the LRD Discord community. There is no guaranteed response time or service level. Conduct in that community is subject to its posted rules and to Discord’s own policies.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DATA IT STORES WILL BE PRESERVED.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, COY MEDIA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, RACE RESULTS, OR BROADCAST TIME, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SOFTWARE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SOFTWARE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE US DOLLARS (USD $25).

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Coy Media from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Software, your broadcast content, or your breach of these Terms or of any third-party service’s terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using LRD at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Software ends; sections 3 (ownership), 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date above will change, and material changes will be announced in the LRD release notes and the LRD Discord. Continuing to use LRD after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and Coy Media agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in the State of New Jersey for any dispute arising out of these Terms, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
